Our Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

These are unprecedented times where the threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is literally changing our family, social, work and spiritual lives.

The current situation is, East Bowral Community Centre, where we hold our Sunday Meetings, is now open. With the social distancing requirement of 1 person per 4m2 currently in place, the number of people permitted to meet inside the community Centre is below our requirements. We will monitor announcements in this regard particularly into early July.

We feel that as a Church, we need to not just respond in this situation but lead. We want to be people of faith, but also wise in how we keep people safe, particularly those people more vulnerable at this time.

We want to lead in the area of social distancing. This certainly has a bearing on our Sunday church meetings, particularly in the area of personal touch, maintaining safe distances and sharing food. We also do not have sole use of the community centre so cannot guarantee appropriate levels of hygiene by the other groups.

It is for these reasons that Angela and I have prayerfully decided to continue to suspend church services for now. In the meantime we will be upholding each and every one of you in prayer. We are putting a plan together to meet regular in smaller groups in appropriate locations. Details of those meetings will be communicated. Our weekly video messages will also continue.

Despite not meeting, the church will still have reduced expenses that we will incur. These include insurances, accounting expenses and pastoral subscriptions & expenses. Can I encourage you to remain faithful in your offering. This is will ensure that, when we are able to recommence formal church services, we will be ready to go where we left off.

Please know that Angela and I have not taken this decision lightly, love each of you deeply and are praying for a fast and full restoration of health around the world. We are available to visit where possible and always available to pray and care for you.

Love and Blessings,

Tim and Angela
